A Little Bit About Your Teacher . . .
About my education . . .
Hello. My name is Mrs. Jeanelle Mahurin. I have been teaching at Owensville Elementary School for 13 years now. My first six years of teaching were in a 5th grade Special Education classroom. I then moved to 5th grade and have been there ever since. I received my Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees from Missouri Baptist University. I currently teach Reading, Math, and Science; however, in the past I have taught all of the subjects. My favorite subjects to teach are Math and Science because of the many hands-on activities and games I try to incorporate in my classes.
About my family . . .
I am married to a wonderful man, Edwin (Scot) Mahurin. Scot and I were married on July 26, 2003. We currently have no children. I have two cats, Toby and Pita. You may often here me talk about my sister - Kelly, my brother - Donnie, and my two nephews - Aidan and Bryar. I am a very proud aunt. Teaching is definitely in my family blood. My mother was a teacher for 29 years and my sister has been teaching for 13 years and works at Owensville High School.
About my hobbies . . .
I have numerous hobbies. My most favorite activity is volleyball. I love sports and have tried to play many sports - volleyball, softball, soccer, bowling, basketball, football, etc. I like to participate rather than to watch. I also enjoy reading. The past few years I have been gardening and preserving the fruits and vegetables grown in my garden. One of my husband's hobbies is to ride motorcycles. Because it means so much to him I have gotten my motorcycle licence. We take trips during the summer on the bike.
